eric day chamberlain biography

For over the past ten years I have been painting pitchers, vases, platters, cake plates, baking dishes, and bowls. Having worked in a houseware store I had time to study and ponder these items that were on display. I would go to my studio and paint these objects as I remembered them, often skewing the perspective with an imagined arrangement. Over time I started to incorporate the jars and bottles from my studio into my paintings, which I refer to as “studio still lifes.” While there are differences between the two, both are similar in showing my interest in objects and vessels and the space that surrounds them.
