ICON Annual Juried Show

Each September, LYNN HANSON GALLERY hosts this juried show, looking for artists' unique interpretation of the theme ICON. ICON can be any subject or abstract glorified - thinking outside the box on the theme is encouraged!
2022: Our 9th Annual Show!
We invite artists to submit up to 3 pieces of art. The show is open to all visual artists: painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, glass, collage and assemblage. We will also consider sound, video or film if artists provide technical setup.
Entry deadline: August 7, 2022
Pieces selected will be exhibited at LYNN HANSON GALLERY for the month of September 2022: September 1 through October 1. The gallery will be open for the First Thursday Art Walk, September 1, 5-8 pm, as well as Fridays and Saturdays, 11-4 pm.
Three awards will be presented at the ICON Reception:

- Innovative Use of Materials Award (chosen by the juror)
- Strong Voice in Art Award (chosen by the juror)
- People’s Choice Award (the people vote, most votes received by an artist)

- Wednesday, August 17: notifications sent via email
- Saturday, August 27: deliver artwork to gallery between 3:00-4:00 or Sunday, August 28, 12-2:00
- September 1- October 1: show dates
- September 1, 5-8: Opening Night, First Thursday Art Walk, Pioneer Square (may be virtual depending on covid restrictions)
- September 10 (Second Saturday): Reception and awards, 2-4 PM
- Saturday, October 1, 4:00-5:00 or Sunday, October 2, 12:00-2:00— pick up art at gallery,

Application Details
- Applying for the show, and paying the $30.00 fee, does not guarantee a spot in the show.
- Entries must be original and entirely the work of the entrant. No giclées or reproductions will be accepted.
- Work must be entered and sold as presented in the application and image. Art will be juried from the submitted digital images. Awards will be chosen from original work after work is delivered. LYNN HANSON GALLERY reserves the right to refuse artwork that is delivered with sub-standard presentation or art not matching digital representation.
- Artwork must be priced for sale.
- Sales will be handled between gallery and buyer only. Gallery will charge a 50% commission on sales.
- Dimensions for wall art 48” maximum. Sculpture must be a size that can fit on a table (size 28”x45” or less).
- Artwork must be professional in appearance in its framing and presentation. Wall art must be properly prepared for hanging with D or O rings and wires. No sawtooth hangers. Frames must be in excellent condition. Wrapped canvases must have sides finished to gallery quality.
- Upon acceptance, artwork can be hand delivered to the gallery on Saturday, August 27, from 3:00- 5:00, or Sunday, August 29, 12:00-2:00. Shipping instructions will be sent to those artists whose work has been accepted. Mailed shipments must be in reusable packaging and MUST have pre-paid return shipping labels for either UPS or Fed EX, with an additional $10.00 handling fee.
- Artwork must remain for the duration of the show.
- The gallery will exercise great care in handling and exhibiting all artwork, but will not be responsible for any loss or damage.
- Artists are responsible for insuring their artwork to and from the exhibition.
