Lisa Snow Lady Statement
Seattle native Lisa Snow Lady’s acrylic paintings and layered paper collages are influenced by her surroundings and seek to portray the beauty found in everyday spaces. With colorful palettes of paint or paper she elevates the ordinary with themes of botanical gardens, interior spaces and the surrounding Pacific Northwest landscape. Architectural elements often feature in her work, creating a backdrop for the play of light and shadow. Lisa’s background in graphic design continues to inform her strong sense of design and composition. While she has many artistic influences stemming from her degree in Art History, Vermeer, Bonnard, Vuillard, and Diebenkorn remain her favorites for their color-sensitive palettes and exceptional use of design.
In addition to degrees in Fine Art and Art History, Snow Lady holds a BFA in Painting from the University of Washington and a Certificate in Ornamental Horticulture from Edmonds College. She continues to advance her education with workshops and classes and teaches Botanical Sketching through the University of Washington Botanic Center and in private and public gardens.
Lisa has won numerous awards for her artwork including the SOLA award in 2021 through Artist Trust. Her artwork has been widely shown in regional and national galleries and is in several collections including Swedish Medical Center, Ballard (with a 25-painting purchase for their campus), the University of Washington Medical Center, Evergreen Hospital, and Overlake Hospital.
