mona t. smiley-fairbanks biography
Picture

Mona works primarily in monotype printmaking, untraditionally incorporating a variety of construction elements such as wood, fiber, resin and metal. Pacific Northwest native flora and fauna is spot lighted in her work with an emphasis on threatened and endangered species.

While Mona’s art is centered on nature and science she also revisits family history to link the past with the future. Making sense of life through the lens of fine details and patterns conceptual work emerges in an attempt to set things in order. Mona has shown her work in many regional shows and galleries, winning several awards.
