As my ink pen wanders through pools of watercolor, I tease out scenes and characters appearing in my mind's eye with layers of color and line. In these paintings I explore four archetypes universally present in human culture since Neolithic times: Sage (Knower), Seeker, Dreamer, Guardian. -- Susan Christensen

The uninterrupted studio time of the past two years provided opportunities to work, reflect, and explore. The outcome is an array of multi-cultural ceremonial figures, adorned with images of amulets, talismans, and ex votos.  The art-making process was both obsessive and comforting; a respite during a time of isolation and reverie. -- Lynne Perrella
